PSS Axial Sealing System for Propeller Shaft

Maintenance free axial propeller shaft sealing system. Specially developed for water lubricated propeller shaft assemblies. No stuffing box, no greased cotton sealing rings or lip seals. This mechanical sealing system consists of a carbon cuff, a stainless steel rotor and a rubber sleeve. Temperature range -70 °C till +220 °C.

This carbon cuff is attached to the stern tube by the rubber sleeve. The elasticity of this sleeve allows the carbon cuff to be pressed against the stainless steel rotor. Due to the permanent contact of the carbon cuff with the stainless steel ring, the sealing surface remains very smooth providing perfect sealing. The stainless steel ring rotates with the propeller shaft. This ring is mounted on the shaft with two allen screws and O-rings. The axial sealing surface is very wide thus providing perfect sealing even with vibrating propeller shafts. The rubber sleeve is resistant to oil and grease and is available in a wide range of sizes.
